The daily routine of medical transcriptionists has intersected with electronic records and works well. Finally software companies are accepting the fact that they need to design software for doctors that allows them to insert their own comments and diagnoses without clicking boxes. With this in mind, transcription has opened up to more and more types of EMR software, making it easy for us to insert into the medical records of the doctors and still allow them to dictate. This is better for doctors, transcriptionists and certainly the patients!
Another factor taking place is that the more documentation provided, the better results for insurance payments and lawsuits. Therefore, as we all understood from the beginning, you cannot put everyone in the same category (or box) to fit all templates in medical records. The physician needs to provide a detailed report instead of a template.
