Doctors, nurses and even chiropractors are catching on that it is much more efficient to dictate than to type into their own EMR system. We have received several calls and emails over the past month from a variety of practices looking to use transcription service. On average, statistically they can see about five (5) more patients per day if they dictate rather than type into their system and of course voice activated transcription never works well, so that slows them down even more! The industry is seeing an increasing trend due to these cumbersome EMR systems and even though they have been around for a while, it often takes providers time to catch on to the fact that they are being inefficient. The US statistics bureau still continues to see medical transcription as a rising career as well. Some transcription companies are incorporating EMR software and transcription service into one as well.
